 We will be looking at the different topics within this book, and focusing on character development throughout our reading. We will also discuss tone and mood and how that changes throughout the book.
 
We will be working with Mrs. Black in order to explore environmental issues as we read and make connections between our independent reading books and the issues being discussed in science class.

Reading Schedule: 
**UPDATED 11/15** I forgot about Thanksgiving Break
The book is broken down by journal entries so instead of page numbers, we will use journal entry dates and the book's division into 3 parts for assignments.

By Friday, October 29:      The beginning (page 7) up to September 7
By Friday, November 5:     September 7 up to Part 2
By Friday, November 12:   September 18 up to October 2
By Friday, November 19:   October 2 up to Part 3
By Monday, November 29:   November 20 up to December 1
By Monday, December 6:    December 1 through the end of the book

Test will follow soon after we finish reading and discussing.
